Welcome to Living My Faith, a weekly show that celebrates the everyday believers who are walking with Jesus not just on Sundays, but in every area of their lives. From relationships and parenting to health, habits, and home, our guests share how they keep their faith at the center of it all. Hosted in Jacksonville, Florida and supported by Christ-centered partners, Living My Faith is a space where real life meets real faith. Today our host, James Fenimore, spoke with Joy Dawson.

Short Company Description:
Joyfully Planned is a strategic planning and event management firm dedicated to bringing visions to life through intentional design, seamless execution, and meaningful connection. Specializing in business development, experiential events, and connection strategy, the firm partners with organizations across corporate, nonprofit, faith-based, and sports sectors to create impactful, purpose-driven experiences.
Can you share a moment or experience that significantly deepened or shaped your faith journey?
One experience that profoundly shaped my faith was leading a large-scale event that brought together people from all walks of life for a moment of worship and purpose. As we prepared, there were so many logistical challenges, and at times it felt impossible. But through prayer, intentional planning, and leaning into God’s guidance, everything came together perfectly. Seeing the joy, connection, and transformation in the lives of attendees reminded me that faith isn’t just a private journey; it’s about stepping out in trust, serving others, and allowing God to work through your vision. That day deepened my understanding that when you walk boldly in faith, even in the midst of uncertainty, God amplifies your efforts in ways you could never plan for yourself.
In what ways do you actively live out your faith in your daily life — at work, home, or in your community?
I strive to live out my faith every day by integrating it into every part of my life at work, at home, and in the community. Through Joyfully Planned, I use my business as a platform to serve others, bringing vision to execution while fostering connection, purpose, and meaningful experiences that honor God. As a mom of three, I seek to lead with love, patience, and intentionality, modeling faith in action for my children. In the broader community, I’m involved in initiatives like the National Day of Prayer, intercessory gatherings, and local outreach efforts, standing in prayer and service for the needs of our city. For me, faith is not just a belief; it’s a daily practice of stepping into purpose, serving others, and allowing God’s guidance to shape everything I do.
What encouragement or scripture has been especially meaningful to you in this season, and why?
In this season, the verse that has been especially meaningful to me is Philippians 1:6: ‘Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.’ It reminds me that every vision, every effort, and every challenge is part of a journey God is orchestrating. Whether in business with Joyfully Planned, raising my children, or serving the community, this scripture encourages me to trust the process, stay faithful, and find joy in the journey, even when the path isn’t easy or fully visible. For the joy of the Lord is my strength!
