Short company description:

George & George ADR Group is a professional alternative dispute resolution firm providing arbitration, mediation, negotiation, and conflict management services for domestic and international matters. The firm is known for handling complex, high-stakes disputes with discretion, efficiency, and rigor, serving individuals, businesses, legal professionals, and institutions seeking effective alternatives to traditional litigation. Led by experienced neutrals with multidisciplinary backgrounds, George & George ADR Group delivers customized dispute resolution processes across a wide range of industries, including commercial and contract disputes, automotive and consumer warranty matters, employment and labor issues, construction, real estate, entertainment, and cross-border conflicts. The firm applies principled, process-driven methodologies designed to reduce cost, preserve relationships, and achieve durable outcomes while maintaining strict neutrality and confidentiality. In addition to case administration and neutral services, George & George ADR Group is actively engaged in thought leadership, professional training, and speaking engagements, supporting the advancement of ADR best practices globally. The firm’s commitment to professionalism, integrity, and practical problem-solving positions it as a trusted resource for parties seeking credible, results-oriented dispute resolution.

What is a tip for success that you would provide someone in your same industry?

Commit to credibility before visibility. In the ADR industry, long-term success is built on demonstrated neutrality, subject-matter competence, and consistent ethical practice; reputation travels faster than marketing. Invest continuously in training, industry-specific expertise, and preparation for each matter, because parties and referring counsel return to neutrals they trust to manage complex disputes with rigor, fairness, and sound judgment.

What volunteer experience has impacted you the most?

Serving as a volunteer mediator has had the greatest impact on my professional and personal development. Working with individuals and small businesses who lack ready access to legal resources reinforced the importance of neutrality, patience, and clear communication, and demonstrated how effective dispute resolution can materially change outcomes and preserve relationships. That experience continues to inform my approach to complex, high-stakes matters by grounding the work in fairness, accessibility, and respect for all parties involved.

What’s one cause you’re passionate about?

I am deeply passionate about expanding access to justice through alternative dispute resolution. Ensuring that individuals and small businesses have access to fair, efficient, and affordable mechanisms to resolve disputes—without the financial and emotional burden of prolonged litigation, strengthens both communities and the legal system as a whole.

How do you encourage your team to make a difference?

I encourage my team to make a difference by emphasizing accountability, professionalism, and purpose in every matter we handle. We focus on preparation, ethical decision-making, and respect for all parties, reinforcing that the quality of our work directly impacts real people and businesses. By setting clear standards, supporting continued education, and leading by example, the team understands that meaningful impact comes from consistency, integrity, and excellence in execution.

Tony:
Hey, welcome to another episode of Making a Difference. I’m your host, Tony Davis, and I’m here with Joseph George, partner with George & George ADR Group. Joseph, welcome.

Joseph:
Thank you. How are you doing today? It’s great to be here.

Tony:
Thank you. Tell me a little bit about your company. Tell me what you do, and mix in your story as well.

Joseph:
George & George ADR Group is an alternative dispute resolution group. We do mediation, arbitration, and negotiation. We help companies with mergers and acquisitions, and we help resolve disputes such as breach of contract, partnership disputes, waste disputes, and more. We also handle cannabis-related disputes.

We’ve been doing a lot of landlord and tenant disputes as well. With COVID, there’s still a backlog of people trying to catch up with bills and resolve issues, so we assist them in resolving those disputes.

We’ve recently gone international, so we operate globally. We handle matters in Saudi Arabia, Japan, and other countries, and we build partnerships with law firms around the world.

Joseph:
We also teach arbitration. Part of our work includes a mock trial program called CASE. We teach how to draft arbitration awards and conduct arbitration proceedings.

We also run mock trials for law firms that want to test their cases before going into litigation. It sounds crazy, but we have a lot of fun doing what we do. We push the envelope with ADR and help consumers understand that they don’t have to go to the courthouse to resolve disputes. They can come to us or another ADR firm and resolve issues faster and with significantly less cost.

Tony:
So you also provide a platform for attorneys to practice what they’ll be doing in the courtroom?

Joseph:
Yes, absolutely. We’ve tested this with two law firms, and they really liked it. They were able to see weaknesses in their cases and areas for improvement before going to court, which is especially helpful for younger law firms going up against larger firms.

When you have a big law firm with a dozen attorneys versus a new attorney fresh out of law school, this gives them an opportunity to test their case in a safe environment. We’ll have retired judges on our platform, and attorneys can choose who reviews their case. We storyboard everything and run the case using the evidence they provide.

Tony:
And you probably throw curveballs at them so they’re more prepared?

Joseph:
Yes, exactly. Curveballs do come up. You can’t practice this at home or in the mirror. You need live people with industry experience who can give you real feedback on how your case is going and where you can improve.

Other attorneys on the platform can also give tips, like researching similar cases on LexisNexis or referencing how the Supreme Court ruled on similar matters to help strengthen their case.

Tony:
That’s absolutely invaluable. You help attorneys prepare for litigation, and you also help companies with mediation, mergers, and acquisitions. Is there a particular company size or industry you focus on?

Joseph:
No, we work with everyone from small businesses to large corporations. Some don’t have attorneys, some operate across multiple states, and others have global operations in places like Dubai. We help resolve disputes and streamline processes at all levels.

Tony:
And internationally, you also educate?

Joseph:
Yes. We educate companies and students. We teach in India, Nigeria, Ghana, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, while continuing to teach in the United States. The ADR market is growing rapidly, especially with the introduction of AI into the mix.

AI is a tool that can help, but like any tool, you still have to do your part. There aren’t many guardrails yet, so we focus on teaching responsible and effective use.

Tony:
AI can definitely be a double-edged sword without boundaries. You sound very comprehensive and well-rounded. You’re truly making a difference.

Joseph:
Yes, we are definitely making a difference.

Tony:
Tell me a little about your background.

Joseph:
I’m a certified hostage negotiator. I worked for the government handling cases involving bomb threats and hostage situations, helping defuse situations and save lives.

I also work internationally in arbitration and mediation, teach globally, and do keynote speaking on a variety of topics.

Tony:
That’s an incredible background.

Joseph:
Thank you.

Tony:
That hostage negotiation work must have been intense.

Joseph:
It definitely was. Working with law enforcement agencies and multiple industries can be very intense and complex.

Tony:
I appreciate having you on the show. How can people get in touch with you?

Joseph:
They can reach us through our website at GeorgeAndGeorgeADRGroup.com.

Tony:
Perfect. You can also visit LegacyOfLeadersTV.com to find Joseph’s information there as well.

Joseph:
Thank you so much. It’s been a pleasure being here.

Tony:
A pleasure having you on. That wraps up another episode of Making a Difference. I’m your host, Tony Davis. Until next time, take care.
