Short company description:
Life Is Rich Global is a faith-centered leadership and financial education organization dedicated to helping individuals and families live in fullness—spiritually, mentally, emotionally, relationally, physically, and financially. We equip leaders with principled frameworks, practical tools, and modern technologies, including AI, to steward their calling, resources, and influence with purpose.
How did you get started in your field of work?
My first business was as a personal trainer. Next, after earning my MBA, I started teaching people how to apply the habits of physical fitness to business. Next, after completing a financial planning program, I started teaching people how to apply the habits of physical fitness to personal finances..
What was the most impactful moment of your transition out of the military?
The most impactful moment of my transition out of the military actually happened before I ever took the uniform off.
At nineteen years old, during Operation Desert Storm, I was walking perimeter at night and made a promise to God: “If You allow me to make it back, I will never waste my life.” That moment became the anchor for everything that followed.
When I eventually transitioned out of the Army, the challenge wasn’t losing structure—it was redefining identity. In uniform, your mission is assigned. Outside of it, your mission must be discerned. That early promise forced me to ask deeper questions: How do I steward my leadership, my gifts, and my time in a way that still serves something bigger than myself?
That realization reshaped how I approached leadership, business, and community. I didn’t leave the military to stop serving—I left to expand the mission. And that commitment ultimately became the foundation for Life Is Rich: living in fullness, with purpose, faith, and intentional stewardship at the center.
What is the most important lesson you’ve learned over your career?
That success without alignment is costly. True leadership begins with stewardship—of faith, time, people, and resources. When purpose leads, results follow in a way that creates peace, impact, and legacy.
What nonprofit do you have a heart for and how do you support it?
I have a heart for organizations that expand access to education, entrepreneurship, and opportunity—particularly for veterans, underserved families, and future leaders. I support through mentorship, strategic advising, board-level guidance, and helping organizations build sustainable systems rather than short-term solutions.

James:
Hi, and welcome to On a Mission. I’m James Fenimore, and on On a Mission we’re going to highlight people and businesses that have a real special mission to share. Joining me, as always, is my co-host, Della Sellers. Della, how are you?
Della:
I’m wonderful. How are you?
James:
Oh, very good. Thank you for asking. So today we have a very special guest with a very special mission. Joining us is Nate Scott from Life Is Rich. Nate, how are you doing?
Nate:
Great, thanks. It’s great to be here.
James:
Thank you so much for joining us today. So tell us about your mission.
Nate:
Absolutely. Well, Life Is Rich Global was birthed out of my experience in combat at 19 when I said, Lord, if you allow me to make it back. On the first day of my life, I’m primarily focused on showing people how to apply the practical application of God’s Word. Life Is Rich means I live in fullness every day because I realize I am Christ’s heir.
It’s founded on Matthew 6:33, which says to seek first the kingdom of God and all of His righteousness. Those are instructions. But then there is the promise that all these things that you have too shall be added unto you. And for me, that means spiritually, mentally, emotionally, relationally, physically, and financially.
And so my assignment is simply to help the believer believe, to simply say, if we do touch and agree in that particular thing. Because my message doesn’t beat people here with the Bible. But for that person that does share that common faith, that’s where my assignment is. And I say, now you are an heir. And so as an heir, that means your Father already has it all set aside for you. And so the only thing that we must do as believers is to grow our capacity, because no good father is going to release the keys to the car if you can’t drive.
James:
I love that. Do you find people have almost a confidence issue in believing that sometimes when you work with them at first? Just kind of say, do I really deserve this? Even an unbeliever sometimes, it’s already on the way. You’re telling me this, I’m born in this, and I’m adopted in God’s kingdom now, and I’m going to get all this.
Nate:
James, it’s not even isolated to individuals because my business is not isolated to just the individual. But my philosophy is about something that permeates. As a veteran, when we talk about a mission statement, we talk about the purpose and the task. And so what I’m speaking about is that anchored belief. And it just so happens to be rooted in my personal faith.
With that being said, in my general interactions, when I come into contact with people that have a common faith, well then that’s when I really stand up and stand in the gap to say, well, listen, here’s what you’ve got to do in order to move this thing forward.
I don’t find that people struggle with confidence. I just find that people oftentimes are not taught in that way. You see, Miles Monroe says that knowledge is information, understanding is comprehension, but wisdom is applied knowledge. What I find is that most believers are just never taught in that vein. It’s oftentimes compartmentalized. You’ve got this thing here, and then you have one’s faith, and so it’s disjointed.
And so when I wrote Life Is Rich: How to Create Lasting Wealth, I wrote it as a principle-centered, biblically-based leadership program focused on personal growth and entrepreneurship, specifically addressing the cash flow danger that no one is talking about. The fact that 77 million baby boomers are retiring and facing a cash flow danger. That 66 out of 100 people age 65 earn less than $30,000 in retirement. That 47% of people say if they had a $400 emergency, they’d have to sell something or borrow money to address it. And 68% of people are living paycheck to paycheck.
But it’s about how to think versus what to think. That leadership philosophy for me was birthed in my experience in combat, knowing that and taking soldiers into battle, that if I got killed on the battlefield, the mission still has to take place.
And so it’s a very unique perspective in the personal growth and financial leadership lane, because I see the combination of the things in which God has allowed me to really understand with each step that I’ve gone through. My first business was as a personal trainer. I then started teaching people how to apply the habits of fitness to their life. I then did my MBA at George Washington University, started teaching how to apply the habits of physical fitness to business. And then financial planning at Georgetown, started teaching how to apply the habits of fitness to personal finance.
And so at the end of the day, my message is just one of encouragement and then saying, you know God’s Word, but so what? How do you take it and apply it on a daily basis? And that’s where the action piece comes in. And that’s where I find many times believers fall short because, again, it’s disjointed. It’s one thing over here and it’s talking faith, but it’s not walking faith.
James:
Oh wow. Della, what do you think of that?
Della:
I can take that conversation down many different avenues. One, Matthew 6:33 is the very first scripture I ever learned. It is what my company is built on. It’s what my ministry has been built on, was that to seek first God in all that I did, but it was His righteousness, His kingdom, and all else will be given unto you.
So what settled with me in my early 20s was that I needed to seek Him first, because then the desires of my heart and the things that were considered a blessing were not the blessings of what the world around me was saying they would be. They would be in alignment with what God said they were supposed to be.
And as I began to seek that with everything that I had, it changed everything about everything. Like the woman I was, the things that I desired, the way I handled life. It just completely became something different.
As I’ve walked that walk for the last 20 years, as a young adult, as a kid, I grew up in the South. So growing up around here, church is just church. You watch college football on Saturday and you go to church on Sunday. It’s just what you do.
But as I began to study the scriptures and understand that each book is a book inside of a book, and that they were each individually written by a person in a period of time, with a context to a particular individual, and as I began to study that, that’s when the scriptures really did come alive.
And it is the gap that I think all of our society is really struggling with. We seem to all agree on a God. Almost all religions come together on the Torah, which is the first five books. But yet as you go through why and what was written, it is the most scrutinized book in history. It is written in more languages and sold more than any other book. But we don’t understand how to read it. So we avoid it out of almost like a societal fear.
So I love the way you put that. I could probably go on for that one for a while.
Nate:
I appreciate you sharing that because it is a dialogue part. It is the fact that the conversation doesn’t go beyond the worship service. The way I oftentimes would describe it is that you get the rah-rah and the feel-good on Sunday or Bible study night or whatever your timing is, your ritual is. But what happens after? Do you actually engage in the conversation to ensure that there’s actually understanding?
Because like I said, there’s a gap. There’s a literacy gap in general. Then you have the financial literacy gap. I’m talking about that thing about understanding. So once again, it’s the comprehension.
And if you don’t have any conversations to ensure that what you thought you heard is in fact what was said, then you just simply got something. But it’s never been vetted. It’s never been stress tested. There’s never been a dialogue. There’s never been the question of so what?
And so that’s what’s exciting for me. When I sit up under any message, I don’t care if I’m listening to a sermon live, a podcast, or reading a book that has a faith orientation, I have the ability to just be present and listen and say, here’s what this means. Here’s what this is. Do you see this? Hey, wait a minute, you got that understanding?
And so that’s what’s exciting for me.
When I wrote Life Is Rich: How to Create Lasting Wealth, I cover leadership as the answer, the cash flow danger, it happened to me, become an entrepreneur, choosing the right entity, raising capital, asset protection, protecting financial privacy, reducing your taxes, retirement planning, residual income planning, estate planning, and Life Is Rich.
Every chapter begins with scripture. But then I say, so what? Why did I do that? Because oftentimes people say, well, I got to pray about it. I say, okay, well let’s go ahead and get this out of the way. Praying, I got it. You praying. But now what?
By framing it with God’s Word, it then leads into the idea of saying, okay, if you truly believe, do your part. Because I can’t tell you when things are going to be released to you. But what I know is that God is faithful, and our job is simply to walk it out.
Those things which are set aside, when they’re to be released, they’re not going to be released any sooner than we’re ready to handle that which we’re seeking.
And so my big mission is centered around those things that what I say keep people up at night. I’m not in the financial services area anymore. That’s a professional background that I have. I act in the vein of a trusted advisor, a strategic clarity advisor, because what I find is that what people really miss out on is clarity.
Through engaging, whether on the B2B or B2C level, I’m addressing things from the question of how do you want to look, how do you want to feel, and how do you want to live the last ten years of your life? Beginning with the end in mind.
If the life expectancy of women is 81 and men is 76, take off ten years. Planning wise, how many years do you have before you get there? And how do you want to physically look? How do you want to feel? And how do you want to live?
Now let’s really put the numbers behind that so that your time is not just taken away. Because we all have the same 1,440 minutes per day. But when you subtract out the time for working, sleeping, commuting, and doing what you have to do each and every day of your life, most people are left with just one to two hours remaining to do what they really want to do.
Della:
I love that. We do it with high school students who have 168 hours in the week. What are you going to do with it? And honestly, when I did it with the students, I had to go back and think about how I’m spending my hours because I’m in the second half.
James:
Well, I think we all have some real thinking to do about the time we have left. Not just overall, but just today. What are we going to do with the time we have?
So I can’t thank you enough for sharing this with us. It really has been so eye-opening and such a pleasure. Thank you for joining us. Thank you for sharing your mission with us. And I want you to know that all your information is going to be listed below the video. So thank you again. It’s been a real pleasure.
Nate:
Thank you. I appreciate it.
