Cook Technology is a Jacksonville-based field IT services company, founded in 2000 and run as a co-op since 2014. Our technicians handle installations and service across Florida, and we build private AI systems that run our dispatch, hiring, and operations, then bring those same methods to clients.
What is the most fascinating fact you know?
Dolphins sleep with half their brain at a time, so they never fully switch off. Our own St. Johns River dolphins do it every night. Locally we also have the largest population and most sophisticated social network of any animal other than people.
How did you acquire deep knowledge in your area of expertise?
By doing the work. I’ve run Cook Technology in the field since 2000, and for the last few years I’ve built and run our own AI systems every day on real operations: dispatch, hiring, and billing.
How has mentorship shaped your journey to becoming an expert?
The best mentors I’ve had were the techs and clients who told me the truth. Running as a co-op made me a mentor too; our people grow by teaching each other.
How do you use feedback to accelerate your growth?
Our business was built on the idea that feedback would replace 3rd party advertising and it has. This empowers our co-op model to be able to spend 95% of each dollar in payouts to workers.
