From studio three at buzz TV. It’s the Horse’s Mouth with Tom McManus. All right. Welcome into the horse’s mouth. As we are in Jacksonville Beach once again at Lynch’s Irish Pub. My favorite place to hang out. One of them anyway. And I’ll tell you what. Back in the day, that corner where the bar is, they used to be a pool table, and us Jaguars used to come out here on Monday nights, win or lose. And eventually we started winning. This place went absolutely crazy in nineteen ninety six and they’ve been here over thirty years. We got a great show lined up for you, brought to you by our good friends at Aldridge Services of Southeast Jacksonville. Talk a little security, little home building, little corporate training, a little media marketing, getting do it all. Maybe even talk about our Jags a little bit. So let’s welcome in the panel. Honor is here. Honor Toback from the Baracus group. Hey, buddy. Hey, Tommy. Tommy Mack. How you doing? Doing great, man. You guys just added the luxury vehicle fleet to your, uh, your services. That’s right. So we have two divisions. One is called brackets group. We do private security. Uh, these are uniform guards, uh, along with marked cars. Uh, doing patrol alarm response. We do all this on a subscription model. Uh, that’s our everyday service. But those of us that want the higher discreet services, uh, we have our Lord and Topac division. So, yeah, you have secure, uh, drivers, uh, chauffeur transportation to all the executive airports, uh, local airports, or even just the night out on the town. Yeah, uh, but it’s secured luxury transportation for those that want that level of service. Absolutely. We’re very excited about that. And then, uh, one thing we offer with that, uh, is actually in-home training, how to defend your own home with the tools and, and personnel that you have, uh, and knowing your family. That’s right. Baseball. What else can I find? So, um, it’s been a it’s been a very welcome, uh, reception throughout, uh, you know, North Florida for that. Absolutely. Uh, people are hungry to know how to use the tools that they have. Well, for the record, I tried you guys out while I was out of town, and I loved the reports. Every morning I got a report and he showed the pictures and even the dogs, like, my wife was like, yeah, the dogs were barking. And you told me the dogs are barking, right? It’s like it was a nice level of comfort just knowing that, you know, not that anything would. You never know what could happen. I shouldn’t say that. Yeah. You never know what could happen. But nice to know that they were protective while I was gone. Yeah, we tried to make sure, you know, that peace of mind is achievable for everyone. Yeah. Um, whether you’re high net worth and you have a different set of needs, or whether, you know you’re a small business or a regular residential homeowner that wants to know, they could call someone if they need to, a non-emergency situation. Yeah, you’re on my speed dial. There’s no we love having you. Good to have you, my man. All right. Tim Caldera is here, owner of Apex Homes. How are you, Tim? I’m good. A new venture for you? Yeah. How about it now? Have you always been in the home building construction type business. What’s your background? I have I’ve been building custom homes for over twenty five years. Oh, wow. Northeast Florida and finally decided to start my own gig here in the last couple months. Good for you, man. What? How’d you get to the jump? You know. What made you jump? It’s just been a lifelong dream. I turned fifty this year, so I feel better now. Yeah or never. And you take all that you’ve learned and experienced into building your own company, I would imagine. Absolutely. Yeah. Hi. It’s the ups, the downs and everything in between. You got it. What’s the key to getting it off the ground and getting things humming? What’s the what’s the, uh, source to that? Yeah, I think it’s been the experience of being able to take all the lessons that I’ve learned over all the years and apply them, get systems and processes up, up to speed very quickly. And then knowing exactly what I want to do to serve a higher end clientele, discerning clients in the luxury home atmosphere here in Northeast Florida. So all luxury homes. Is that your focus? Absolutely. Will you do spec or will it all be like build to order or whatever however they go? I just want to serve clients. Yeah. So find the clients building their dream house. That’s it. Fantastic. How about funding you? They have to get it all. Do you have. Do you help them out? Or my clients are cash or finance? Yeah. Northeast Florida. You did say luxury. I’m just a bartender, man. Don’t pay that to me. Well, good luck with the new venture, man. That’s. That’s awesome. Great to have you. John Frederick is back. How are you, my man? Freddy media. I’m so great. Thank you for hosting today. What’s the latest? Man, what you been working on? What? You got any new projects you want to want to share? Always trying to sign influencers. Maybe we’ll sign Tom. But, you know, guys like PE Guy or Chris Kerner. George Saliba is an interesting guy. He went into the gym this morning, and the guy on the treadmill was watching his show as he walked in. Oh no kidding. He said, George, if you don’t introduce yourself to him, you’re a terrible person. Yeah. He walked up and had a big high five. That’s great man, that’s great. So how’d you. How’d that come about? How do you how do you find your talent? Well, I you know, I’m lucky to have this, like, phony baloney career. I just worked in the car dealerships forever, so I haven’t They really kind of like, did it like a psycho. And then, um, there was a Twitter account that was talking about the car business. I was an avid commenter, and I took it over and I turned it into an industry publication, exited that, started my business, started aggregating influencers that speak to specific industries okay, SMB, automotive, tech, AI, whatever. And then we basically broker media deals on their behalf. And then what that’s led me into is now we’ve taken over marketing for some really cool companies, but we help businesses crack publishing, social media. That whole weird nice. That’s right up your alley, right in your wheelhouse. It’s creative. Yeah. It doesn’t feel like work. No, not at all. Right? I mean, you work all day and night. You don’t. You don’t clock in and clock out, but it doesn’t feel like you’re off. I work like a crazy person, but it is all just like a new weird idea. Yeah, that’s good though, man. Good to be creative. Absolutely good to have you back on the show. Thank you so much. Absolutely. Matt Rocco Sandler training. How are you, buddy? Great. How are you? Good to see you. Three years with Sandler. It is. How’d you get started with them? How did your path lead into Santa’s training background in sales? By doing everything from being an account rep to working as a manufacturer’s rep for different companies. Yep. Director of sales. Um, really? At about eighteen years, just sales grinding. Okay. And, uh, had an opportunity to join a company that was doing coaching, uh, around growth and scaling of businesses. Okay. So they would help someone that’s pretty small outfit and they’d help them grow into something bigger. Yep. And then, uh, Fast Forward had this opportunity to join Sandler, which has a really good, uh, twenty something year presence here in Dallas. Yes, absolutely. And, uh, stepping in for someone who’s gonna, at some point, maybe scale out a little bit. Okay, jump into that word. Retirement. Okay, good. Um, so I’ll be running. Running things here as a partner. Nice. So is Sandler training, um, like all coaching. Is it sales coaching? Is it executive coaching? What? Yes. What is it? It’s a process and a methodology that you can adopt into your business. Okay. For the sales growth of revenue. And, uh, okay, it kind of gives companies that have always just blown and gone. Yeah, they they don’t have any specific way that they do it. And they say, okay, to really get to the next level, we gotta dial this in. Right. So, uh, any software involved in all that, like, uh, getting them on that? There is a lot right now where we’re training and doing different things, implementing through a, uh, you know, learning management. Yeah. Sounds like organizing everything to make sure you can grow on a module learning. But yeah, a lot of it’s in person, face to face. I’m not a great salesman. Like, I’m more like, I mean, I’m I’m a great connector. I’m great talking to people. I love all that stuff. But for me, sales is like, you either want it or you don’t like, do you like it? Great. Then buy it. If you don’t, it’s cool. I’ll go to the next person. Maybe they will. You know what I mean? I don’t have that. It’s a it’s a violent sport, whatever you call it. It’s. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah, yeah, yeah. My brother’s been in sales and, uh, for forever corporate and that the the logs he’s got to do every Monday. I’m just like, bro, I don’t know if I could ever do that. I just, I could if I had to. I chose a different path. But good for you guys and succeed because you sales guys are you’re different. You’re wired different. You know you know you have the you have a little different aura and confidence about you, a little bit of bullshit in there, which is okay. It’s just, you know, reading the room and figuring out what people like. You know, it’s funny now because now that I own the business, my employees give me, you know, a bunch of grief and about not putting notes in the system and not following the process. So now I’m the one. I’m like, I own the place and I’m breaking all the rules. Yeah, yeah. All right, let’s talk. Uh Jags shall we. Are we all Jags fans. Yeah okay. Long suffering Jackson. Yeah yeah. Well what did you start. That depends when you started okay. Well we had some success early. That was good. Obviously we’re, uh, we’re hoping they can continue on. How do you feel about Liam Cohen? I’ll start with you. Just six games in the four and two. It’s amazing. They’re four and two because, man, they haven’t even played close to their best football. But what would you say about Liam calling the leader of the Jags? Man, I’m backing him one hundred percent and you know, very hopeful for what he’s going to bring to the team. I look at some of the videos they’ve shown of him back in the behind the scenes locker room. And I’m like, if the team’s behind what he’s doing, then I’m all about it. So if the team’s believing in him, yeah, and they’re really saying, all right, this guy’s for real, I can get behind it. When you win, you believe if you don’t win, I don’t know how I. We’ll see how that goes. But what do you think? I’m a big fan of Liam. I think he helps the game with a great game plan, great strategy and executes pretty well I think in the long term. Does Liam stick with Trevor or would you ever see him do one of those things like Sean McVay did? Right. He was in LA and ship him out and bring in who he wants. Yeah because I don’t know. Does he look at Baker Mayfield. Does he look and kind of have that in the corner of his eye. Because Trevor does make some I’m a Clemson guy love Trev. Yeah. No I want him to wait I know but is he ever going to get there of his eye. Yeah. Well I tell you you can sometimes see the frustration on Liam’s face on the sideline after a different place. You know what, I don’t think, and I’m in the sports world. I don’t think anybody’s brought that up. I got it. And and by the way, it’s a copycat league, so that’s interesting. Go get Lamar at Baltimore’s. John Harbaugh exits. You probably got him. You probably get Baker. There’s people up for grabs. I don’t think we’re ready just yet, but Trevor’s got it. I mean, nobody’s better. Trevor, I no, no, I’m with you. I’m with you. Yeah, he’s just off a tiny bit. He’s. Man. Yeah, just a tiny bit. All right. Tim, how about you? I’m a Gamecock, so I agree he’s off. But I’m a proof in the pudding guy. Liam’s winning is winning. And right now he’s got him heading in the right direction. What do you think? On our last word in Cohen? We trust, right? He’s taken balanced risks. He’s looking at fundamentals, moving the ball, controlling the clock, getting to the fundamentals. Yeah. And that’s what you need right now. You need to consolidate talent. He wants a tough gritty disciplined team. That’s right. You wouldn’t have thought that with his first Duval you know, right? You know what I mean? You’re like, wait a minute. This little goofy, you know. But no, he does. He wants a disciplined, tough, gritty football team. Guys, thanks for being here.
