From studio three at buzz TV. It’s the Horse’s Mouth with Tom McManus. All right. Time now for the Horse’s Mouth here at Lynch’s Irish Pub in Jacksonville Beach. A great place to come and hang out, especially on Thursdays while we film this show. Brought to you our good friends at All Dry Services of Southeast Jacksonville. Todd Marshall is here from all dry. Coach Mark Duffner is here as well. We got a couple guys that are in the home building and the finishing business with cabinetry and flooring and everything else in between. Let’s welcome in the panel. Coach Duff is up first. What’s up coach good to see you. How are you my man. Doing great. You ever build a house? Uh, you and your wife, like, throughout the years. Did you? We had. We built one when we were in in green Bay coaching in green Bay. Okay, uh, went through that process, and it was excellent. Yeah. I have high regard and respect for these gentlemen and what they do. No doubt. No doubt. So basically, your wife handled everything. And you Ukraine. And you were coaching the Packers. That’s all right, though. That’s all right. Great to have you on the show. Todd welcome back. How are you, brother? How’s it going? What’s the latest with all dry and the restoration and growth and all that is good. And coming into the fall season, there’s a lot we do charity all through the year, but we just had an event today before the show with trap shoot and, uh, Davidson Clays for cause. We love participating in that stuff and, you know, with care. That’s right. They raised another fifty grand for builders care. Nice. So we just love this time of year. A lot of golf, a lot of trap shooting, a lot of events that we can help give back. Yeah. It’s exciting. And for you guys, obviously it’s any kind of restoration fire, water, whatever it may be. Right? That’s what allows us to get money. Yeah yeah yeah yeah, absolutely. I do the work, but not money. With the cool air coming, you don’t have to worry about the mold and mildew right now. Or do you still know it’s absolutely there? You still gotta wear the thing, man. It’s, uh. And it’s becoming more difficult to manage because so many people come to Florida that aren’t used to Florida. Yeah. And they might come from Colorado or from New York? Yeah. And they’re not used to the way things operate down here. So, you know, there’s a lot of mold and flies. Yeah, yeah. Got to take care of it. Yeah. All right. Takes care of it. Don’t forget. All right. Tim Calderon is back. Hey, Tim. Apex Holmes, how are you? Been building custom homes for a long time and went out on your own a few, uh, few months ago, so welcome back. What makes a great home builder, man? What makes a great guy in your position? Well, we’re a client. First focus. So, you know, attention to detail, customer service, creating an enjoyable experience. You hear so many stories of an industry that are nightmares and people have had issues. And so I really take a personal hands on approach from beginning to end throughout the whole process. Measure twice, cut once. Right. They teach you that in construction school or something. I’ve heard it on the bar. Hopping off somebody in your life too? Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Any part of town you really like building in because there’s so much growth going on all throughout. Any anything hot right now? Amazing. Here in Northeast Florida is always hot. Of course. Uh, I’m built on the luxury side of of home found buildings, waterways, all the high end neighborhoods around town. Okay. Yeah. Beautiful man. Great to have you on the show. All right. Widow Noelle Waddell. Good to have you, my man. Classy. That’s right. All in the flooring, cabinetry and everything else. Finishing a whole. All right. How long have you been in that line of work? Not too long. A little over a year. Okay, yeah. Fourteen months. Were you, uh, always in the construction world or what? No, actually, I spend most of my professional career in healthcare sales. Okay. Yeah. So you’re very burnout. Tired. I was always in sales, but, uh. Yeah. Got to bring those doctors food and stuff. I didn’t like that about the times I was in a catering business. Yeah, yeah, people helped me. It was funny when I was playing with the Jags. What was Chicago? My brother was working for Smiths Industries, some medical. And he’s like, yeah, I’ll be right back. He goes out and he’s got this box of donuts. I’m thinking they’re for me. He’s like, don’t touch him. I’m like, what are you talking about? He’s for the doctors. I’m like the doctor. He’s like, I gotta bring it so I can see him. It’s unbelievable. But that’s the game. Got tired of the, uh, yeah. Health insurance world. Yeah, a great health care. Health insurance is a disaster. And, uh. Yeah. Got tired of, uh, distresses and found another line of business and. Yeah, quite interesting. Your sales guy. Right. So you you’re going to sell. Yeah. Account executive. So business development’s a big, a big part of my business, but also project management, making sure everything’s done on time and in budget. And you know, when you see, you seem easy to talk to and likable off the bat. And I wouldn’t say that I wouldn’t. Yeah it does. Yeah. Yeah. For connecting and building relationships. Right. Yeah I know this guy. Yeah. Yeah I mean this show is a lot about you brought so many people in here that are entrepreneurial in a number of ways. We talked about sports and being an entrepreneur in sports and representing yourself totally. But you’ve branched out on your own when you think about it. You left your your business. You were used to and you started something new. This, this. It’s been working a long time in building and has now said, look, I’m going to go out on my own and do a high quality product. Take a risk. Yeah. And I love to see that. So obviously what we did. But this is this is what this show is all about. So kudos to everybody here. Yeah, connectability and all that kind of stuff. All right. So let’s take business to the side for a minute. What do you guys do for yourself? You gotta have me time. What do you what do you do for? I have a twelve year old son. He’s probably the biggest part of my world. Uh, I’m a golfer, so he used to work in the industry a long time ago, and that’s where I. I’ve always turned back to him. Big golf fans. Okay? They always say sales in golf, like, take him golf. Is that true? I’ll be honest, I played more golf in the last fourteen months than I have very long golfers. Like golf. I’m encouraged. Golf is a huge part of our industry, um, especially with Napa, Northeast Florida builders. Sure. Yeah. We, uh, we put on a number of golf events a year and a lot of people, although maybe not very good at golf. Yeah, they love to get out of the office. They love to get out and, uh. Yeah, it’s it’s. Well, you’re with each other for so long, you got a chance to get to know each other. How about you, Jim? What do you say? Uh, we travel a good bit, but family focused. First we got a daughter, Three grandkids now. So nice. That keeps me on my toes. And this time of year, college football. And no doubt I don’t doubt it. So yeah, there we go. Yeah. Football almost every day of the week now. It’s unbelievable. How about you, Todd? What do you do to let loose and get away from it all? I wish I could do more of it. Let’s just say that. Yeah. Uh, but but, you know, lately it’s just been, I guess, as I said, getting into the things that we love to get back. So. Yeah. Fun to write golf or shooting or whatever. Yep. Certainly got to get into some more boating. But the football football’s good when the Jags are winning. That’s right. Happened here recently. But I know we’re going to get back on track. No doubt. Amen. And the Gators too. That’s a hard it’s a hard thing to love. But yeah coach what would you do when you were coaching man. You guys are under a high stress. I mean, so as a business owner and all that, but, you know, what would you do to get away distress or what have you? Sure. Well, if I was coaching here, for example, I as soon as I crossed the ditch, I was, I was on the beach. Yeah. Getting over there, coming over the bridge there and enjoying the beach and then boating, like he said, trying to clear your mind right now and getting refreshed a little bit and decompress a little bit from the from the job. So this place has it all. No doubt. No doubt. All right guys, thanks so much for being here. Great job. And uh wish you nothing but the best. Keep it going. Good luck on the new venture, man. That’s awesome. All right you you’ll check out their great profiles.
