From studio three at buzz TV. It’s the Horse’s Mouth with Tom McManus. All right. Welcome to another edition of The Horse’s Mouth here at Lynch’s Irish Pub in Jacksonville Beach. A great spot, and we sure do love being here. Brought to our good friends at All Dry Services of Southeast Jacksonville. Great show lined up for you this time around. Coach Dufner is here, so always loving Coach Dufner has a seat at the bar. We’re going to talk a little custom suits. We’ll talk a little business. Uh and we got a little turn of the table here. Our director is joining us at the bar. We’re going to say hello to her in just a minute. Let’s start off with Coach Dufner. How are you, coach? You’re doing great. Welcome my man. Pleasure. I love having you here on the show. I love being here. You always bring a nice, you know, steady, uh, view of of things. You know, I don’t know, but I love being here. Thank you. Good man. Good. Uh, how about, uh, jags in London? They better stay out of the pubs. You’re in. I gotta go. Focusing on play between the field right now. That’s right. Bring home a win. Marty. Later. Right. That’s right. All right. Michael J’s here. Mike. How are you? Queen’s custom suits. How long you been in the custom suit world? The custom suit world? A little over three years now. You’re looking sharp, man. And look like a million. It’s a nice color, I like that. Yeah. That’s right. How’d you get into it? How’d you get into it? A friend of mine started the company. We were both dry cleaners in our previous lives. Okay. Uh, made the transition from cleaning clothes to selling clothes. Okay. Enjoying? I’m loving it. What’s your favorite? What’s the best? What’s the best? Just making somebody look good. Or what’s the deal? You’re making somebody look good. It’s always pretty awesome. But, uh, I think bringing along, uh, maybe some of the younger generation and getting them in tune with dressing like a gentleman has been really good. Yeah. Look sharp. Play sharp. Absolutely. Live sharp. Yep. That’s right. That’s right, coach, you know it. Steve storms back. What’s up Steve. Good to see you. How you doing, man? Good. You’re really sharp. You always wear the suit actually, looking at this guy, you know that would look good on you. That that color would look good on you. I appreciate that I’m doing well, man. How are you? Yeah. I’m good. Life is good. Financial guys. Feel like you gotta be dressy, don’t you? You know, I learned that lesson, actually. Walking into a attorneys firm the same name twice that I think you might do some work with. Okay. And I’ll never forget walking into a partner’s office. Uh, she took one look at me up and down and said, what you got going on there? I had on a sport coat. Feeling good? Yeah. Looking sharp. If you ever come into this office one more time without a suit on, you’re fired. Just like that, and I. I asked many years later, I said, why? You know what? We have to make sure that we’re looking good because we got to go in front of a judge. Yeah. You come. You better come prepared. You better look sharp. Which is why I love these guys. Because they always make sure I’m looking good. Well, I’ll tell you this, as far as relating it to football, the only time a coach will allow a player to have his shirt untucked is if he’s making a ton of plays. That’s what that is. So, Casper? Not sure, but if not, you better tuck that in right hand. You know, excuse my language. All right. Morgan Young is here. Hey, Morgan. How you doing? What’s going on? Oh, I just felt like coming on this side of the bar, huh? Yes. My, uh, my producer over there, he’s like, get over there. Nice. Okay, well, you’re a great director producer of this show, and we really appreciate you having fun with Mike white. Or does he drive you crazy? Um, I enjoy the crazy. You know, it’s fun being the handler, uh, of Mike white. Yeah. Yeah. Always a good time. Growing rapidly. Well, I enjoy. You’re native too, right? Are you a native to South Florida? Okay. Correct. Native ish. Born and raised. Yeah. So, um, staying in Jax? Yes. You love it, I love it. So I did a six month road trip across the country. I tested out a bunch of places. You did? There’s no place like Jacksonville. You know, when you have the beach, the country, the city, all my friends and family, it’s really hard to beat. No doubt. Especially that family. Yeah. You know, you got the family here. Mike, you want to, you know, be around it with, you know, especially when you start having little kids. Miss, I’m going to be married soon. Yeah. When’s your wedding date is coming up seventh, by the way, coach, you know what I learned about Morgan today? She does these aerial acrobatics like up in the air, like flying and all this crazy. Wow. Yeah. I like that. Performing that at the wedding. Uh, Joey, my fiancé and I, he’ll lift me above my head. He’ll throw me. Are you doing the Dirty Dancing thing? Yeah, I taught him that on our second date in the rain. Did you really first try? It was in the rain. What, did you watch that movie? Crazy. Stupid. Love. They do that. That movie. You know what I’m talking about. Yeah. It’s Ryan Gosling. He does that. Yeah. That’s hilarious. What’s the best part about Jacksonville other than the beach and everything? And the people and everything. Dare I say the Jaguars? You could absolutely say Bush when they win. I know who I’m talking to. I know my offspring. Especially when they win. Yeah, right. Especially when they win. All right. How’d you get into the aerial acrobatics? Like, were you a gymnast? Were you a cheerleader? Cheerleader for twenty years and then transitioned. Born to the yoga part of things and then got into the acrobatic yoga. Oh, geez. Yeah. And then the aerial hoop. So now I have a hoop hanging from my ceiling in my living room that I just get to flip upside down on every night. No kidding. How do you connect to the hoop? Well, you hold on with your hands. Okay. Wait. No, I meant like your feet. Like. Yeah. You like, straddle up. Wow. You fit up onto the bar, and then you go. No, no seesaw gymnastics. Yeah. No safety net, no seatbelt. Just. Wow. She must know how to fall or land. Well, if you do fall, you just don’t fall. It’s not an option. Don’t let go. Don’t let go. Oh my gosh! Unbelievable. Mike, who’s your favorite? You got any, uh. Uh, people that you’ve, uh, that you’ve dressed, that you know. That was fun to work with. Not not famous. I don’t care about that. So many of my clients are fun to work with. Yeah. Um, I can’t I can’t really single too many of them out. Yeah. Uh, down in Sarasota is where we started as a company. So that’s where the most of my client base still resides. And, uh, my man Bob Bermudez down there, uh, he’s just got incredible style. He’s not afraid to take risks. Yeah, some fun stuff. Uh, and he just he just cuts loose and has fun. Do you think most guys know you’re supposed to match the belt to the shoes? The color? You know, you think they know? Or do they not care? They don’t know that. You’d be surprised how many guys don’t know any of the standard rules of thumb when it comes to. That’s funny. Now, listen, I don’t always do it. Like, if I could cover up the belt. Right. So you don’t know what I’m wearing. But if it’s tucked in, like a suit or it’s got a match. But you said it earlier. You can do it because you made all the plays. You can leave a jersey on top and never see it, right? That’s right. Steve. I don’t have to tuck it in. That’s true. And if you’re not sharp enough, we’ll tie that all together. She’ll. She’ll give you a good coach. Let me ask you this. Do you want your team when you travel? Do you want them to dress sharp like that or do you really care what they wear? Well, you know, when I was in college, in college, coaching college, we did travel like that. Really? Yeah, we did too. You know, coat and tie and and we’ve done it in the NFL also. I’ve longer trips. We’ve kind of relaxed it a little bit. So. Because you want the players to really be able to to rest and so forth. Yeah I think there’s nothing better than a team that gets off the plane or off the bus. It looks like a million bucks like Michael. Yeah. No doubt. I loved when I was playing with the Jags. Some of the players would have these battles of who could come in, you know, like Keenan would have all orange on and then Jim would come in with alligator still all green, looking sharp as could be. I had the same thing every time. And I had a twenty two inch half neck. Uh, if I couldn’t find a shirt, I just cinch it up. And I was about it. But but, you know, you got to look sharp. It gives the players an opportunity, just like you said, to be creative, I love it. You give them a chance to be themselves a little bit. So yeah, I think that’s a real positive part minus the the professional photographer they bring with them to get that perfect shot. All right. That’s right. I’m walking to the bus. Eric is decked out and everything perfect. My bag. Yeah. My watch. Yeah, yeah. You know, how do you see behind the scenes of that? Because they they show it now where they have the behind the scenes of the cheerleaders and the players. They have like a photo setup before they get into the locker room. Right. Um, and I love I’m friends with a lot of the cheerleaders, and all of them are looking sharp now too, that get posted on social. Cheerleaders are great. Yeah, yeah. Well, you know, my wife would say, of course, quarterback sit there with a fan so that he can sell some shampoo. I mean, I’m I’m very jealous. Yeah, I know, thanks I appreciate it. Absolutely. All right. As we wrap up, how are we feeling about our Jags. Mike I’ll start with you I, I we gotta come back with a win in from London. And how do you feel towards the rest of the year. Well I’m feeling really good about the Jags personally. Do I think we get a win in London. I think it’s going to be a tough one. Okay. Um, definitely against a team who’s a little more buttoned up than we’ve shown we can be during that season fair. Uh, but I think we can come away with a win. And I think going forward in the rest of the season, it’s it’s not you’re not going to see the typical teams that we always see the, the Kansas City’s, the Baltimore’s and things like that that are dominant. I think it’s going to be it’s there’s a changing of the guard happening in the NFL. Right. I think so you do the Seahawks. Yeah just came. And Jags are showing signs. And I think the Steelers are a nice sleeper. So yeah um yeah I think we’re going to see some some fun football towards the end of the year. Think about this. They’re four and two. They haven’t played anywhere near their best football. And they beat KC and San Fran. Yep. Like no one thought they were going to beat either one going into the season. Back to back back to back. And one on Monday night. How do you feel? You know I’m honestly I’m trying not to get too excited. Uh, born in Miami, I grew up outside of Cleveland. And other than Jacksonville, I’ve struggled in the NFL. Yeah, but I am I you know, I am I’m excited. I you know, it’s it’s cool to see the vibe in the city. You know we got the new stadium that’s you know continuing to make progress. Yep. Getting some national news I was watching you know the Thursday night game and every other snippet was about no, I know what’s going on. I moved here from Miami twenty years ago. And it’s just so cool to see Jacksonville as a city fueled economically by the Jaguars. Oh yeah. No. Everything that they do to become that thing that we have that potential to be as a city supporting that NFL. I ask people all the time and I know it to be true. When the Jags win, everybody’s happier. They spend more money. They want to do more things. I want to buy more suits. They just want to live happily more than when they lose. It’s amazing how it changes this city. How about you, Morgan? You get lost or I’ll get the coach I want. What do you think about the Jags coming back? I think Lennon is a special place for them, especially for the veterans who have been there before. It’s like almost a home away from home. Yeah. Because so many fans there. Yeah true that are big Jags fans across the world. And when they see that they’re fired up. Yeah. So I’m excited for them and the rookies who get to experience it Travis Hunter I can’t wait to see his face in London. Yep. Um it’s going to be a blast for them too. No doubt. It’s got to be fun playing over there. Coach, have you gone over there to play at all? About four times. You have. Yeah. Was that when you were with the Jags, Jags and Cincinnati and that was Miami. So I’m going forward as a team. Do you do you like it I do uh does it disrupt stuff or not really. Not as much as I thought it would, you know. And you’ve got different ways of traveling whether you go like the Jags went like on Tuesday or some people go Thursday night and even Friday, leaving early from Baltimore Friday. So there’s a lot of ways to address the travel, but I think the goodwill that it’s doing across the world right now and it’s tremendous. You can’t beat it. The enthusiasm that the fans have over there for all of our teams, especially the Jaguars, is priceless. So it’s, uh, I’ve enjoyed it a lot. I remember talking to Coach Coughlin, uh, way after it happened and, uh, he was over in London and the morning of the game, nine players were in jail. They got arrested the night before because they didn’t want to pay their tab. Do you remember that? You don’t remember that the London pubs and they nine of them got tossed to jail. He’s like, I get a call in the morning and I got a call the owner and say, we got nine players in jail this morning. Well, the question is, that’s the problem. I’d have certainly I over there in London. Did I get corralled? Did they win? Uh, I can’t remember. I know they didn’t win. No, they got killed, I think. Yeah, it was bad. It was bad. But hopefully they come back with a victory and keep this thing going. Like we’ll keep today’s NFL four and two is amazing. It is. Just don’t make it four and four. I bet you every morning. Steve. Mike. Coach. Thank you. Always a pleasure. That’ll do it for us this time around here at Lynch’s Irish Pub.
