Each week on On a Mission we talk to community leaders who are out to make a positive impact in the area. Today, our host Whitney Mincey talks with Christine Alfano, Victoria Isernia, and John Tibbetts of Bold City Opera.
Short company description: We are a small grassroots chamber opera company run by local musicians who are hungry to create. We’re passionate about revolutionizing opera, and bringing it to the people.
How do you define success?: Bold City Opera defines success by our ability to showcase local talent while bringing beautiful and meaningful opera productions to life. Our goal is to inspire and enrich the cultural fabric of Jacksonville, fostering a deep connection between our community and the timeless art of opera.
What’s your favorite way to get involved in the community?: Our favorite way of giving back is through community outreach, where we strive to make opera accessible to everyone. We offer free performances, and workshops throughout the year.
What are your biggest goals in the next 12 Months for your business?: Our biggest goals in the next 12 months, in addition to successful performances on October 25th and 26th and our next two operas on January 31st and February 1st, 2025, are to forge partnerships with corporate and individual sponsors. Their support will enable us to bring quality productions to Jacksonville, putting our city on the cultural map alongside St. Augustine, Orlando, Sarasota, and Tampa.
